DouroAzul named Europe’s Best River Cruise Line 2026
DouroAzul has been named Europe’s Best River Cruise Line 2026 at the World Cruise Awards, receiving this distinction for the fourth time.
Following its wins in 2021, 2023 and 2024, the 2026 award once again recognises the work carried out by DouroAzul within Europe’s river cruise sector.
This achievement reflects the daily commitment of the teams both on board and ashore, who support the operation and contribute to the quality of service and the experience offered to guests discovering the Douro with DouroAzul.
What are the World Cruise Awards?
The World Cruise Awards are a global initiative dedicated to recognising, rewarding and celebrating excellence in the cruise sector through an annual awards programme. Categories cover different areas of the industry, including cruise lines, ships, destinations, terminals and specialist travel agencies.
Winners are determined through voting, and in 2026 the programme reached its sixth edition.
The World Cruise Awards are the sister programme of the World Travel Awards and are organised by the same team. The World Travel Awards recognise excellence across the global travel, tourism and hospitality sectors.
Recognition built over time
DouroAzul’s fourth win in this category marks another milestone in a journey developed over many years.
Behind every cruise is the coordinated work of teams in different roles, both on board and ashore. Their daily contribution supports the onboard experience and the way DouroAzul introduces guests from different markets to the Douro.
The 2026 distinction therefore adds another chapter to the recognition achieved by the company and to the work that continues to be developed on the Douro.
